This collection of abstract oil paintings delves into the dynamic interplay between creation and transformation. Painted on board, each piece begins with a foundation of warm, fiery earth tones—rich in texture and grounded in the natural world. Created during the LA fires of 2025, these tones evoke the raw energy of both destruction and renewal. Layered above are fluid washes of cool blues, whites, and greens, offering a striking contrast that suggests the movement of water and air. Areas of underpainting peek through, revealing deep reds and yellows, adding depth and complexity.
In each work, I allow the medium itself to drive the content, embracing the spontaneous and unpredictable nature of oil paint, stand oil, and solvent to shape the evolution of the piece. The layers of color and texture speak to the cycles of life, highlighting the beauty found in both creation and destruction. Some areas retain a high gloss, acting as a mirror to include the viewer in the composition, reflecting the continuous process of change and self-discovery.

My work is inspired by the colors, lines, light, forms, and textures we encounter daily. In watercolor, I explore the dynamic interaction between paper, water, brush, and pigment—capturing my awe of life through fluid, organic processes. Oil painting, on the other hand, is an ongoing exploration of texture and color, where I create dreamlike landscapes that reflect the unconscious journey through abstract worlds and the story of dreams. These two mediums allow me to express the beauty and mystery of life in evolving ways.

My work reflects of the deep connection I feel to the natural world, inspired by the interplay of form, color, texture, and light. Each painting is my attempt to express the simplicity and profound beauty I find in nature, capturing the subtle shifts of color that emerge when I pause to observe—whether in the way light dances across a leaf or the graceful curves of the human form. When the painting achieves a sense of balance—like the wild world feels—I know it is done. Through my art, I seek to reveal this quiet, living energy, where life, in all its complexity and grace, is made visible in the smallest of details.
